It seemed like just a few years ago, Under Armor was about to issue a challenge to Nike in the footwear and apparel sales department.

In 2015, the company totaled $1.2 billion in sales through the end of August, overtaking Adidas in stride. The sales surge was helped by the company poaching Stephen Curry from rivals Nike and then seeing the Warriors guard’s meteoric rise to a championship, boosting sales of its Under Armor Curry sneaker. 2.

However, they could not maintain this momentum and sales have declined in recent years.

That hasn’t deterred the company from continuing to sign NBA players, giving them something they won’t necessarily get at Nike or Adidas: a more personal partnership experience.

Two of the NBA’s biggest stars have Under Armor endorsements: Stephen Curry and Joel Embiid.

Which NBA players have an Under Armor signature shoe?

As you might expect, only the top two names on Under Armor’s roster have a signature sneaker.

Curry is on the 10th iteration of his line, while Embiid launched the Embiid One in 2020. Leaks have emerged of a shoe that was supposed to be the Embiid Two, but it never made it to market.

Curry first signed with Under Armor in 2013, which means 2023 will be the celebration of a decade with Under Armour.

What is the Curry brand?

Legend has it that part of the reason Curry left Nike in 2013 was that he felt underappreciated compared to other names on Nike’s roster, and there may have been a problem. with a PowerPoint presentation as well (ugh!).

Since then, the partnership with Under Armor has been fruitful for both parties. In 2020, the company even gave Curry the Michael Jordan treatment — its own subdivision.

The Curry brand spans footwear, apparel and accessories, with each category supported by Under Armour’s performance product innovations.

“Curry Brand is about doing good in everything we do,” Curry said at the time.

“I’ve tried to embody that in my own actions, and I think it’s also something that others can really support, no matter where they are in life or what their goals are, athletic or otherwise. Curry’s ninth signature sneaker was the first under his Curry Brand umbrella.

Since the Curry Brand launched, they have also expanded into golf footwear and apparel, as well as running and lifestyle sneakers.
