This NBA star has had the most wins over the past decade, and it’s not LeBron James, Stephen Curry or Kevin Durant

The NBA is filled to the brim with some of the best stars in the sports world. Players like LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant have made a habit of being recurring winners and storing accolades. These three players have long been at the forefront and have served as “faces”.

From incredible regular seasons to replicating those feats in the playoffs, they’ve done it all. It stands to reason that one of these three would have the most wins over the previous decade. However, this is not the case. Interestingly enough, that player is Danny Green.

Sharpshooter Danny Green tops the list of players with the most wins over the past decade, according to StatMuse. Since the 2012-13 campaign, the Memphis Grizzlies player has won the most NBA wins, with 512.

Green is considered one of the most coveted role players in the league. Using his ‘catch-and-shoot’ skills, the shooter has always proven essential for any team he’s been on.

His career stats are respectable, averaging 8.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists. Green’s career percentage from beyond the arc is what offers a better picture, as he’s converted 39.9% of his three-point attempts.

Many people might well be surprised to see Danny Green at the forefront of this list. However, when you learn the teams the goalkeeper has played for, it all makes sense.

Danny Green has played for big NBA teams over the past decade

Danny Green has long fulfilled his duties as a sought-after actor. Additionally, the New York native is one of four NBA players to have won championships with three separate franchises.

He played for an elite San Antonio Spurs team, from 2010 to 2018, and had many wins. Danny Green at the top of this list is mainly due to the fact that he is part of this team. Additionally, he was a vital member of the team that defeated LeBron James and the Miami Heat in the 2014 NBA Finals.

After a successful tenure with the Spurs, Green and his teammate, Kawhi Leonard, were traded to the Toronto Raptors in 2018. It was a major change of scenery for him considering he was joining a new team after eight seasons.

Either way, his wins continued as the Raptors, led by Nick Nurse, finished the regular season with a 58-24 record. Surprisingly, Green and the Raptors won the NBA title, beating the defending champions Golden State Warriors.

After a season where he won his second championship, Green put his talents to work for the Los Angeles Lakers. And predictably, the sharpshooter won his third NBA championship as the Lakers defeated the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Finals.

This explains why Danny Green has racked up the most wins over the past 10 years. He spent the previous two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers.
