The Grand Rapids NBA G League team will have a new affiliate next season, and with it a new nickname and logo.

The announcement came more than two months after team officials announced that the franchise would be affiliated with the Denver Nuggets of the NBA. The team, which arrived in Grand Rapids in 2014, was previously affiliated with the Detroit Pistons.

The name Grand Rapids Gold celebrates Colorado’s world-class mining heritage, while the colors incorporated are those used by the Denver Nuggets since 2018.
