Charlotte Catholique girls 55, Cannon School 44: Catholic, No.3 in the Observer’s Sweet 16 preseason, beat No.2 Cannon by limiting the Cougars to 37% shots. Cannon made just 5 of 33 3-pointers and Catholic won on a night when star center Blanca Thomas, a top 10 national rookie, took just six shots. Thomas finished with six points, 16 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and two assists. Gracynn Gough had 14 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and one steal. Cannon had 22 points, seven rebounds, six steals and two assists from Samyha Suffren.

Victoire Christian 55, Garinger 54: Justyn Whitfield had 20 points, two interceptions and Jaden Dade had 14 points and two assists to help Victory Christian secure a narrow overtime victory. Garinger got strong performances from David Anderson (15 points, three steals), Camden Jernigan (15 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, three steals) and Juston Moore (13 points, five rebounds). Garinger passed Victory 45-34 and forced 21 turnovers, but Victory was able to secure the victory. The Kings shot 9 of 22 for 3 points compared to 5 of 24 for the Wildcats.
