The Overseas School of Colombo (OSC) recently inaugurated its new and improved basketball court which has been refurbished and redesigned and approved by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the International Tennis Federation (ITF), a the school said in a press release.
The statement said the decision to upgrade the facility resulted in a complete overhaul of the surrounding area, which now offers more seating capacity, out of the sun, for the OSC community to comfortably enjoy. watch the matches.
CSO Sports Director and Physical and Health Education Department Head Steve Turner said, âPlanning for the new upgrade has been an exciting project. We were looking for something unique and different and after looking at several samples that varied in type, quality and thickness, we finally found our ideal match. In addition to being ultra-practical and easy to install and remove, the versatile surface is exceptionally durable, portable, easily cleanable, and very versatile in the sense that lines in the field can be scraped and drawn accordingly.
âThe surface also provides great traction for multisport activities – indoors and out. This has certainly made the area more attractive to students, and many others are using the space at break and lunch to showcase their skills. We are looking forward to hosting competitive matches against other schools on the new surface in the near future â.
According to OSC, the surface allows a constant rebound of the ball, thus providing unparalleled playability; quick drain, non-slip and suitable for all weather conditions and requires minimal maintenance.
