It’s been a pretty good year for Pacers big man Domantas Sabonis, who has come out blazing in 2022. The two-time All-Star notched a triple-double on Jan. 5, followed by a 42-point game three days later . . If that wasn’t enough, Sabonis then recorded another triple-double on January 10. With his recent run, Sabonis comes into play Wednesday as the second most expensive center on NBA DFS sites like DraftKings and FanDuel.
It turns out that Team Sabonis got a triple-double against Monday is the same he will see on Wednesday. The Pacers will have a rematch with the Boston Celtics, so can we expect similar numbers from Sabonis that we saw just two days ago? The best NBA DFS picks for Wednesday, January 12
One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Wednesday is Spurs guard Dejounte Murray at $9,700 on DraftKings and $10,200 on FanDuel. The 25-year-old fills the scoring board this year averaging 18.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game. He is also a defensive ace as Murray leads the NBA with 2.1 steals per game.
He’s in a great position tonight as Spurs are severely shorthanded and many of their best players are unavailable. San Antonio has seven players averaging in the double digits, but four are listed as absent due to health and safety protocols. It will require Murray to contribute even more and he has the perfect opponent to do that against the Rockets. Houston has allowed the most Fantasy points to opposing point guards on DraftKings and FanDuel, so Murray is a no-brainer for Wednesday.
Another key to McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu ($3,900 on DraftKings and FanDuel). Okongwu played a career-high 38 minutes on Sunday and had nine points, 10 rebounds and two assists while shooting 75% from the field. He’s seen so much playing time due to Clint Capela’s inactivity and Capela is listed as doubtful for Wednesday.
Okongwu was No. 6 overall in the 2020 draft and he finally has the chance to show his potential. Even though Capela is adapting, Okongwu still has stand-alone value as he showed on Friday. The big man had 12 points and seven boards in just 18 minutes as he also knocked down all five of his shots from the field. At the discounted prices Okongwu carries, he’s an absolute steal, so you can see why McClure is high on him.
