NBA 2K23 The City features revealed in new Courtside Report

2K today unveiled a host of new features for its NBA 2K23 “The City” mode, including fast travel stations, new locations, and more. Detailed in the latest Courtside report, 2K has added tons of features to the city in an effort to make it more accessible, listening to player feedback and adding exciting new features for the release of NBA 2K23 on PS5 and Xbox Series. “The City is an incredibly authentic way for players to experience basketball culture. Linking MyCAREER closely with the city allows players to experience their careers in a unique way as they journey to legendary status on and off the pitch,” said Erick Boenisch, vice president of NBA development at 2K and Visual Concepts. “Community feedback has been instrumental in the new innovations we’ve added, and we look forward to players experiencing all that we’ve brought to NBA 2K23 this year.”

Although The City is slightly smaller than it was in last year’s entry, it will provide a better experience, with added fast travel stations for players to move around quickly. The boroughs have been redesigned and relocated, with themed places that touch on the very essence of each. 2K also revealed that Seasons return with a new set of rewards every six weeks.

There are also new locations in the city. The block is the literal heart of the city, allowing players to find all the content in one place. As for the theater, it replaces the warehouse buildings and serves as a hub for playing instant matchmaking games. Each Friday, playlists from four events will also be replaced with four new ones. J. Cole’s Dreamville Studio will be a place for those who befriended the rapper during MyCAREER in their quest to conquer the city.

The arena allows players to play MyCAREER games there with a large outdoor area. In an effort to create the pre-game atmosphere, players will be able to show off their appearance to the media, as well as answer their questions after a game and complete any outstanding quests. Finally, the Event Center has received a design overhaul and the Jordan Challenge Building offers players the chance to quickly jump into the all-new game mode featuring the legend himself.
