McBride was instrumental in EMU’s victories in both competitions. Jackson native Tenn started the week with a team-best 19 point performance. The effort, his second best of the season, saw him convert on 63% of his shots and had a perfect 8-for-8 on the charity strip.
Even better on Saturday, McBride helped lead the Eagles to victory in the program’s first-ever 4OT game, a victory over one of the nation’s most prominent teams, the Florida International Panthers; The CRF entered the competition with a seven-game winning streak. McBride contributed 15 in front of a crowd of nearly 4,000 members at the new George Gervin GameAbove Center in Ypsilanti. The special day included The Iceman’s return to campus and the surprise announcement of a name change. McBride played 49 minutes off the bench, including every second of the four extra periods that resulted in an EMU victory, 92-88.
