Lewiston High School announces new boys’ basketball coach

LEWISTON –Lewiston High School announced Wednesday that Coach Brooks Malm has signed on as their new boys’ head basketball coach.

Coach Malm, a native of Troy, Idaho, played college basketball for the Trojans and went on to play for a year at Walla Walla Community College, where he assisted in coaching duties and was recruitment coordinator. Malm worked at the University of Idaho in several capacities, first as a student assistant for the 2015-16 season, then as director of men’s basketball, and eventually moving on to director of player development. for 2017-2018.

Coach Malm most recently served as athletic director and head coach of men’s basketball at Buchanan High School in Clovis, California.

According to a press release from Lewiston HS, Coach Malm will arrive in town from California this Sunday. They are inviting parents/guardians of boys interested in participating in basketball this upcoming 2022-23 season to a meeting on June 7 at 6:00 p.m. to officially introduce Coach Malm. The meeting will be held at Lewiston HS and parents and students are asked to enter through the main doors.

The coach will discuss his tentative schedule of events, opportunities for the boys and expectations at the moment.
