Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James knows about Carmelo Anthony’s struggles before he can return to the NBA, which is why he’s so proud and delighted that his good friend and brother hasn’t given up.
At TwitterLeBron quoted on Twitter a video of Anthony talking about his motivation to replay in the NBA no matter what. As a reminder, Melo was largely shunned by the league after the Houston Rockets essentially exiled him, leaving him without a team for more than a year before the Portland Trail Blazers gave him a chance.
James was obviously happy for Anthony, noting that he was just glad the new Lakers forward didn’t “give in” despite the negativity and that many people are losing confidence that he could return.
So DAMN glad you didn’t give in to my brother !! Keep on going!! https://t.co/uNZyiI1BP2

Carmelo Anthony’s time with the Blazers has been a success as he has proven that he can still contribute and play any role the team needs, even if it means getting off the bench.
Over his two seasons with Portland, Anthony averaged 14.3 points and 4.6 rebounds in 2.3 minutes per game. He had also shown flashes of his elite score from time to time, proving he had a lot more left in the tank than people do.
Anthony signed a one-year contract with the Lakers this offseason to team up with LeBron James and fight for his first NBA championship. The Purple and Gold were previously interested in Melo before he signed with Portland, but now they’ve finally been able to hook him up to add a crucial piece to a battle-tested roster.
