Lubbock Coronado walked away from Midland High with a 31-11 fourth quarter in Friday’s season opener at Midland High gymnasium.
Noemi Arciga led the Lady Bulldogs (0-1) with 15 points, followed by seven from Bolaji Subair and six from Hannah Lujan.
Kya Smith led the Lady Mustangs (1-0) with 18 points, Jannaeleigh Cooper provided 15 and Jazlyn Braithwaite had 11.
Midland High hosts Amarillo Tascosa at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

LAREDO – Midland Christian picked up a convincing victory over Fort Bend Christian to open their season at the Pat Alexander Invitational on Friday.
Deshaun Ortiz led the Mustangs (1-0) with 24 points and six assists, while Josiah Wray posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
MCS’s Giovanni Lujan contributed with 18 points and Andrew Fox added nine.
The Mustangs passed Fort Bend Christian, 43-19.
MCS continues to play in the tournament on Saturday.

LUBBOCK – Lubbock Trinity proved too difficult on Friday night, beating Midland Classical, 86-40, on Friday night.
It was the first game of the season for the MCA, which was led by Garrett Kelly’s 16 points and Luke Elliott’s 14.
