Former NBA top pick Kwame Brown fires Gilbert Arenas, Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes after ‘All the Smoke’ comments

Kwame Brown’s professional basketball career has been the center of jokes around the NBA world for years. Now the former top pick in the overall standings has had enough.

During Gilbert Arenas’ recent appearance on the popular “All The Smoke” sports podcast, hosted by former NBA players Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, he and the hosts spoke about Brown’s career in the league. In the interview, Arenas called Brown a “man-child” who had a loss of confidence due to teammate Michael Jordan, and called Brown a “show pony.”

Brown received word of the comments and hit back at the trio live on Instagram and with an hour-long YouTube video (Warning: graphical language below). In the video, Brown called Jackson “fake” and Barnes “Becky with beautiful hair” and claimed that Arenas took millions from them through contracts.

“I think you have to focus and channel that energy into other real issues,” Brown said. “And Stephen Jackson, maybe you can put that blunt (expletive) on and pull your pants up on your ass and put that rag on and act like a grown man instead of a little ass.”

Brown has been considered one of the biggest busts in NBA history. He was drafted out of high school by the Washington Wizards as a first pick in 2001 and has never lived up to the hype. Brown may still have had a 12-year career in the league, but he will never go beyond the bust tag.

After Brown’s rant, Jackson replied on Instagram, saying he refused to interact with him. Jackson claimed Brown chose to target them because of their sports media platforms.

“Don’t make that personal brother,” Jackson said in the video. “A million people are talking about you, but you want to come to us because you know we’re sexy, because you know we can get you back. … It’s not personal. I wish you the best big guy.
