EOC confirms addition of 3×3 basketball to European Games Krakow-Małopolska 2023

3×3 basketball has become the latest sport to be confirmed on the program for the 2023 European Games in Krakow-MaÅ‚opolska.

The European Olympic Committees (EOC) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) have signed an agreement that will see 3×3 make its third consecutive appearance at the European Games.

The sport was presented at the inaugural Games in Baku in 2015 and was also on the program of the 2019 event in Minsk.

Sixteen teams are scheduled to participate in the men’s and women’s 3×3 tournaments in Krakow-MaÅ‚opolska 2023.

“3×3 basketball is a fan favorite, as we have seen in the first two editions of the European Games with a large and enthusiastic crowd,” said Hasan Arat, chairman of the EOC Coordination Commission.

“The addition of 3×3 basketball demonstrates the EOC’s commitment to bringing the best sporting actions and top athletes from Europe to Krakow-Malopolska in two years.”
