Fans voted nearly 36,000 times for AL.com’s Boys and Girls Statewide Basketball Players of the Week.

Faith Academy’s Davon Carter was selected Male Player of the Week while McGill-Toolen’s Lindsey Cox was voted Best Female Performer.

Carter scored all his 21 points in the first half, including six 3-pointers, as the Rams beat Satsuma.

He garnered 2,195 of 11,102 total votes, edging Christian American’s Davis Dare by 104 votes.

The rest of the top five were Tyler Thomas of Cottage Hill, Ty Davis of Mountain Brook and Wilder Evans of Oak Mountain.

Cox scored 21 of his game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter and overtime in a win over Blount.

She got 14,089 votes, garnering 57% of the total 24,882 fan votes.

The rest of the top five were Ghanaye Whitfield-Moss of Hueytown, Cali Smallwood of Susan Moore, Je’Nyiah Silas of Lee-Huntsville and Naomi Jones of Jackson.
