CALIFORNIA CITY – This summer, kids will have the opportunity to learn the basics and mechanics of basketball from one of the townspeople. California City High School basketball coach Ronald Fleming will return to host the annual clinic.
The clinic is open free of charge to all children in the Mojave Unified School District between the ages of six and 18.
The camp will last two weeks from Monday to Friday starting July 5e and ending July 16e and operate from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
Fleming has run this camp for five years, only skipping 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’ve done a lot of work over the years,” Fleming said. “It should be a lot of fun. We always have a great time and play more games than any other sport in town. ”
To participate, children will need the following:
- Each camper will be registered with proof of a recent physical examination.
- Each camper must come with their own water, snacks, food (breakfast and / or lunch) and drinks.
- Each camper must be able to use the toilet without assistance.
- Parents should provide emergency information and a number where they can be reached in an emergency.
Fleming said all he asks is that the children come to the clinic with the intention of learning and playing basketball.
