2023 Stanford MBB signs Kanaan Carlyle to play for Team USA in FIBA ​​U18

2023 Stanford Men’s Basketball Commitment Kanaan Carlyle will play for United States Under-18 Basketball Team next week at the FIBA ​​U18 Americas Championship in Tijuana, Mexico. Carlyle made the cut after attending the 2022 United States Junior Men’s National Basketball Team training camp in New Orleans in April. Carlyle is a 5-star rookie and placed 15th overall in the last rivals 150playing her high school prom at Milton High School in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Eight countries will participate in this week’s event. Group A will consist of Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Canada. Group B will consist of Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the United States of America. Team USA will open Group B play on Monday against the Dominican Republic.

As for what this means for Carlyle and Stanford, it’s obvious that gaining international basketball experience is great. These tournaments are always excellent indicators for players in terms of comparison with the best players in the world. On top of that, the chance to play on Team USA and face the best in the country in practice will only make Carlyle better. It will be fun to see how Carlyle and Team USA perform this week and whether or not they can take gold.
