Troy recommended The New York Review of Books over a year ago when I asked him for a list of magazines that I should be subscribing to and I think I’m going to ask Santa for it this year. The sudden decision to subscribe is based on Michael Massing’s article, “The Press: The Enemy Within,” (which is what I vaguely remember good journalism looking like) which covers a topic near and dear to me: why the American media sucks so badly these days. The article is well written, informative and timely. Now where have I heard those traits espoused?
Oh, you also have to checkout Maureen Dowd’s appearance on the Late Show. Best quotes: “Cheney’s guilty,” and “Investigative reporting is not stenography.”
