Happy Belated New Year! Here are a couple of interesting links to make up for the lateness:

Eventum Issue is a bug tracking system that was written independently discovered and adopted by MySQL until it was then purchased outright by MySQL, the developer was hired and then released it under the GPL. Spotted in the archive at trainedmonkey. From what I’ve seen, I’d like to adopt this for Chassis…

Picked up the url for The Shadow Internet from Doug — an interesting, if sensationalized, read detailing the pirate underground. I never did anything like Doug did with his Commodore as I was strictly into wardialing.

Jacques Marneweck has a good piece on the recent phpBB debacle.

Re: The Shadow Internet. Sensationalized? Whaddaya expect from Wired, a Conde Nast publication. These are the same folks who published “The Long Boom” which predicted, in 1997, that the stock market would go up indefinitely.

Here is the tagline: “We’re facing 25 years of prosperity, freedom, and a better environment for the whole world.” God I miss the Clinton years. Can you imagine that kind of optimism today? Even in a Conde Nast publication?
